Importing GeoJSON in to a diagram

It is possible to import external data into a diagram. In most cases, users will sketch features in the diagram to represent projects and policies. However, it is possible to add data such as GeoJSON or other files into the diagram. To enable external data uploads, you will need to select the “Enable external data” during diagram creation. The GeoJSON should be projected to WGS 1984 projection system per the standard.

  1. If you want to enable external data addition for your diagram, you will need to specify it when creating a diagram.

  2. Once the map is added, it is shown as a new window in the tool.

  3. Click on the edit button.

  1. Click on the “Import External Data” link.

  2. In the sidebar, select if it is a project or a policy and give a friendly name for your file.

  3. Attach the file from your file system / desktop and click on the “Import File” button. If the file is a valid GeoJSON file, the data will be added to the diagram. If there are errors parsing the file, the data will not be added.

HI Hrishi,

We want to import a diagram into the change models. Although we followed all the steps mentioned above and checked for possible errors (WGS 1984 etc.) we could not succeed (see attached image). Do you have any idea why?

Fred

Hi Fred,
The attribute table in the file should ideally be empty. When you are adding a external file as a diagram, there should not be a column called “areatype”. Can you try that and let me know? I can provide some sample files as well if it helps.

Hı Hrıshı,

Thanks. Yes it did work although I have to admit it is a little bit cumbersome work. I think we are ready for the really project now. Would you please be so kind to send us a new code for our project titled “Master plan for Harran University, Osmanbey Campus”/

Regards

Fred

Of course, I will send it via email.
